AIS Help

Q. What should I do if I have forgotten my password ?
A. If you have forgotten your NetID password and have set up your password security questions, reset your password here.
If you have forgotten your password and have not set up your password security questions (that allow self-service password resetting), please contact the Texas A&M Computing and Information Services (CIS) Help Desk at (979) 845-8300 or at helpdesk@tamu.edu.

Q. What should I do if I want to access AIS (applicant.tamu.edu) or the Howdy portal (howdy.tamu.edu) but I don't have a NetID and password ?
A. Once you have applied to Texas A&M University (via www.ApplyTexas.org), you will be issued a Universal Identification Number (UIN), which is sent to the postal and email address you entered on your www.ApplyTexas.org application. You can use your UIN to activate your personal user name ("NetID") here.

Q. Why do I need a NetID and password to access AIS or the Howdy portal ?
A. Texas A&M University is concerned about the security of your personal information. Consequently, you are able to choose your own user name ("NetID") and password to access information through web tools such as AIS and the Howdy portal.

Q. Can I access AIS directly through the Howdy portal (howdy.tamu.edu) ?
A. You can access AIS through the Howdy web portal. Log in to Howdy with your NetID and password, and click on the Applicant tab to locate a link to AIS.

Q. What do I do if I need to change my password ?
A. If you wish to change your password, click here.

Q. Why are applicants for certain semesters only granted access to AIS ?
A. In an effort to focus our services and resources where most needed, we limit AIS access to only those with a current application for admission on file. Application dates are available on the Admissions web site here.
